Improved menu for small screens

A responsive menu system has been added to make your website easier to navigate on a phone or tablet.

For these smaller screens the menu disappears, and a menu icon appears:

Tapping or clicking on the menu icon, reveals the menu. Tapping or clicking  anywhere on the page closes it.

Some info on the Image Galleries

One of the major features of the MyPhotoClub system is the Image Gallery.  WIthout the need to upload, sort or manage files by a committee person,  each competition or event your club conducts has a gallery that contains all images uploaded during the entry process.

Registration message updated

When a person registers on your website they are creating an account that enables them to login to any competition or club website hosted by the MyPhotoClub network.  Their next step is to either join your club or enter your competition.

To prevent potential problems and frustrations if they later attempt to register a second time at another MyPhotoClub website, a ‘thank you for registering’ message is sent to the newly registered person, providing them with details on what registering has created for them and what the next steps are.

Here is a link to a sample message sent from a camera club.

Each clubs’ message can be edited to adjust their needs.

Pay Membership Fees

The Pay Membership Fees page has been refreshed to accommodate more payment methods.  It is located in the yourname’s Details menu  and allows a member to either record that they have paid their fees by one of the following options:

  • Cash  (the need to enter a code has been removed)
  • Bank Transfer
  • Part of group (family) payment.
  • PayPal – in this case the fee is actually paid online.

When a person ends up with two accounts…

When a person has difficulty logging on to a website they often suspect that their registration failed and they register again.  An email address can only be registered once, so they are obliged to use a second email address to register the second account.

The most common reason for this is the Forgot My Password reset messages are in their spam or junk mail folder.

Having two accounts is not so much of a problem, unless they are both in your membership / entrant list.  If this is the case then you need to remove one of the accounts as soon as possible, to prevent them entries being made with both accounts. (more…)

What are you reading this on? – a phone, tablet or a computer screen

Several of the support requests that I have dealt with have been resolved when it was discovered that the member or entrant, was using a touch device such as an iPad.  This was preventing them from seeing a crucial piece of information due to the need to scroll or pinch to zoom about. (more…)

Club Competition results – reporting

Each club has it’s own method of assigning awards and points to their competition entries, but so far all clubs encountered have a process where a numeric value is assigned to each entry.  This happens at the end of the judging process when the competition is finalised.

Within the For Members menu option, the Competition Results page shows the results. (more…)
